The Alverthorpe Prints

Alverthorpe, a private museum and residence, held the Lessing J. Rosenwald Collection of prints, rare books and drawings. The mansion was completed in 1939 and the collection became widely known. It was visited by scholars, individuals and groups from around the world. The colllection was deeded to both the National Gallery of Art and the Library of Congress.
